The Camera Never Lies, we are the LEADers in LEAD

Sometimes we have to put ourselves on the line when we really believe in something.

That is exactly what happened on our trip to NZ recently...

We have always said that our x-ray protection wear is the safest in the world.  Now we have the proof.

Whilst speaking with some radiographers in a hospital in Auckland, we told them how our lead aprons were safer than the ones they were wearing, as well as being lighter. 'Prove it', they said.  So we did. We X-rayed theirs and ours together and this is the result:

Just look at the differences in these two lead aprons (above and below the white line)

Above the white line is our competitors lead apron and below the white line is the Bay Medical lead apron.

There are two major differences.

Firstly look at the stitching on the top lead coat, the messy stitching has more holes and is therefore letting in more radiation compared to the neat stitching on the Bay Medical lead apron. Secondly, even though the Bay Medical lead coat is lighter, look out how much denser ie darker it is compared to the one above, therefore blocking out even more raditation!

We have said it all along and that is why we are fast becoming the LEADers in LEAD.  Our X-ray protection wear is now proven as the safest as well as the lightest in the most stylish in the world.

It's curtain time for those hideous hospital curtains

The results of the clinical survey* are out and they are truly shocking!

42% of hospital curtains are contaminated with untreatable bacteria, 22% with MRSA.
MRSA is a bacteria that can take hold in human tissues and eventually becomes resistant to treatment. Some virulant MRSA strains spread more rapidly and cause severe illness affecting vital organs and can even lead to necrotizing ("flesh-eating") pneumonia.

The answer is Silentia.... The world's most hygienic screen system.

It's flat surfaces can be quickly and easily cleaned, they withstand the disinfectants used in care situations today and the enclosed wheels can easily be removed and washed in a dishwasher. It meets the strictest of hygiene requirements and all of its surfaces are accessible for cleaning.

The Silentia Screen System has also been designed to improve patient comfort and takes up little space when it's not being used. It is easy to pull out, section by section, to the desired length. It can be placed at an angle and fixed in different positions. It is available in 2 heights -1.45 metres tall, an ideal height which doesn't block the daylight and allows staff a good view of the room and 1.85m tall.

The screen is available for wall mounting where it doesn't get in the way of lifting devices mounted on the ceiling and is also available as a mobile screen.

This Youtube clip shows how stylish the system looks and how easy it is to use and maintain.

For further information on Silentia, please contact Bay Medical. www.baymedical.com.au

Have you been screened???

Maybe there's a screen time of year.... because we have been receiving a number of enquiries in recent weeks at Bay Medical regarding our fantastic Silentia Screens.

And it's not really surprising... Silentia means stillness and quiet and these Swedish screens are a patented system used to improve patient comfort and the indoor environment at hospitals and other care facilities.

The screen takes up little space when it's not being used, it can be mounted on the wall and is easy to pull out, section by section, to the desired length. It can be fixed in different positions and is available in two heights. It is also available as a mobile screen.

The screens are EasyClean, they have smooth surfaces that can withstand hospital-grade disinfectants. The enclosed wheels can easily be removed and washed in a dishwasher. All products meet strict hygiene requirements and all surfaces are accessible for cleaning.

Silentia Screens come in a choice of different colours and patterns to blend in and create a harmonious impression. A new addition is Daylight, a frosted screen that lets more light into wards. Another addition is the Print Collection, a series of patterns that inspire children’s imagination.

Each Silentia screen is made to measure, as small or large as required and there is a model with a built in x-ray shield.

Silentia has been manufacturing screens since 1989 and is available in over 30 countries around the world.
